Congratulations, Shari!!

We are pleased to announce Shari Ajayi as the lucky winner of our stylish Babylon Bracelets.
The prize is a solid bangle in sterling silver or 18kt gold plated on bronze.
The bracelet is hand stamped with the statements: In the city of Babylon. love.live on no evil in the city of love. live on no evil. In our Babylon collection we are fascinated by the use of palindromes, mirror words. We want to look at the world around us from two sides.
Here is Shari's own thoughts about Scosha NYC and the Babylon Bracelet:

“I appreciate the complexity of design and the history behind each Scosha NYC piece. I work for TSE, the famous cashmere brand, and my sterling silver Babylon bracelet complements and accentuates the rich hues of all of cashmere cardigans and sweaters. It has quickly become one of my favorite pieces of jewelry!”

-Shari Ajayi, 24 Brooklyn, NY

Thank you, Shari for your support!!!

LOVE=EVOLve

Lifestyle Jewelry by Scosha is now offering new products and extended lines. Collections still include precious metal and stones for both men and women that are continually inspired by the beauty of traveling through everyday life. Apart from adding new beautiful pieces we now have more items available in sterling silver, which is great for a broader clientele.
The past months have been very successful. Particularly the Babylon line, which is geared towards casual fashion for both men and women. The popularity grew rapidly after Scosha was interviewed in the September edition of Men's health magazine.
"Men's fashion is such an interesting topic, and there is still so much to be explored"
People are curious about the background, and the source of inspiration behind the Babylon Collection and it's placement as Scosha's men's line.
"I love Men's jewelry, but I don't think the selection is broad enough. It came kind of naturally to make a line of Jewelry with men in mind but that woman would wear as well. That's what I like to wear, it's non Gender, and I'm opposed to - pink for girls and blue for boys."
THE CITY OF BABYLON.LOVE
L I V E O N N O E V I L
"Mirror words or palindromes for me are like pendulums - the eye and mind travels back and forth, you can't help but begin to explore".
"I'm a big believer in two sides to everything - I love the opposites, positive growth, and the play on words. I chose words that may seem like they are negative, but when put in a sentence it conveys exactly the opposite. The perfect opportunity for someone to misunderstand, typically, that's how life goes."
LOVE for example spelt backwards is EVOL. LOVEEVOL, love = evolve or evolution. The politics of romance and relationships, it's a powerful word it can make things change. - Ever started acting strange when you feel love. - Imagine the world if we could drop love juice on everyone.

The work always comes back to the design of nature, good and bad
For our promotional deal this month: Our newest necklace and bracelet LOVE=EVOLve, are for both women and men in sterling silver, is now on sale. Necklace for $59 and bracelet $49. Other metals are available by request.

The DIY culture is growing and it is so inspiring to see people be creative and do things for themselves.
Scosha was contacted by Los Angeles Times to tell her story about the friendship bracelet, the beauty of traveling that influenced her to create these bracelets. With her expertise in macramé weaving and design Scosha made a demonstration of how to gather your creativity and make a bracelet on your own.
The article was published in Los Angeles Times Image Section Sunday July 13. Be inspired by the DIY culture here

The bracelets that were used as inspiration source for this article can be found in the Everyone Collection

Inspiring Dads

This blog post is dedicated to inspiring Dads around the world.
I want to draw the attention to a fellow Jewelry designer  that traveled around the world and found the uses of global culture as an inspirational source for his work.
Lorenzo Kellam is an American born Jewelry Designer and currently a resident of Sweden.
In the sixties he lived in New York and was inspired by the cities creative atmosphere around him. After meeting his wife during
his travels  he followed her back to Sweden where he has been based since the early eighties. His children are Swedish and American.
Lorenzo's jewelry has a futuristic touch, he uses materials such as Plexiglas and Swaroski crystals in  interesting shapes to create his abstract ideas.

His line includes jewelry for men and women,  and they are unique as his sculpture and  furniture designs.  his use of recycled PET plastic  creates beautiful jewelry for women in his current 2009 collection.

Something of interest.

Caravan – celebrates the beauty of traveling in life

I thought I would introduce to background and inspiration source for the friendship bracelets and the Caravan Collection.

The main source of inspiration for the collection comes from the beauty of transportation and the organic form of traveling. Transportation in this sense is about recycling the experiences and knowledge you get when moving between cultures and countries.
It’s like arriving in a town at dusk when there is a festival of artists and musicians that are celebrating this way of coming together.
The spirit of the bon fire creates a circling of people expressing their creativity through music, song and dance. It’s is this merging of peoples, wisdom and cultures that has been followed as a golden thread through the Caravan Collection.

The bracelets represent friendship. You can trade the bracelets with friends and the strong weaved linen is everlasting, just like friendship.
People asked me about the everlasting and waterproof features of the bracelets.
I've had mine all on for over a year, never taken them off- even once! I'm a sculptor too, so I'm always working with them on, and have had lots of different detergents, paint, wax, you name it Ive been up to the elbows in it! and it all washes of- IN THE SHOWER.

What ever your into
I'm always delightfully amazed how people that own dogs in NYC,  keep up with the "walking the dog", and follow behind with a little plastic bag for the doo doo, - I recently heard there was a doggie party being held in a Soho loft.
One that isn't connected to the Doggie world can only ask- what do you do at a doggie party??? Well,,, there's,  Doggie drinks, Doggie treats, Doggie games and  the fellow that was telling me about the event  said,  his pet Doggie is really only going for the  "Doggie networking".

Ohhh,,  " does he have a card?"

My immediate thought after my hysteria passed was, maybe i'll make Doggie collers. If a dog will wear jewely I'll make it!!

Then It turns out there's a  Piggi world too.  What a beauty!!

Williamsburg is a great source of inspiration

Scosha Jewelry, a greedy puppets tale!

Nothing is wrong with the greed for life,,,, in fact, one hopes that all people get the most out of their time on this fruitful planet!!
The core being the seed to explore and experience the journey, that is called life.
After living in New York City for 3 years now, and after traveling parts of the globe, I decided to hang up my hat for a while, and set up my own creative business.
Finally I have both my website and blog launched which I'm really excited about.
